Resumen
El objetivo de este estudio es analizar los simbolismos presentes en la celebración del Inti Raymi en el cantón Otavalo, provincia de Imbabura, y su relevancia dentro del contexto intercultural. Esta festividad ancestral, está cargada de significados que representan la relación del ser humano con la naturaleza, especialmente con el sol, considerado el principal símbolo de la vida. A través de este análisis, se busca comprender cómo estos símbolos no solo mantienen su valor tradicional, también se han transformado y adaptado al contexto actual, integrando influencias de otras culturas y reflejando el diálogo intercultural. Se iniciará con una revisión histórica de la celebración del Inti Raymi, abordando los principales símbolos, como el sol, el agua y la tierra, cómo cada uno está relacionado con la cosmovisión andina. Se reconocerá cómo los elementos simbólicos se han mantenido a lo largo del tiempo, y cómo en la actualidad se perciben y reinterpretan por la comunidad, tanto en su contexto original como en su interacción con otras tradiciones culturales. El análisis se profundizará mediante entrevistas con miembros de la ciudad de Otavalo y expertos en temas de interculturalidad, quienes proporcionarán una visión amplia sobre el significado actual de estos símbolos. Finalmente, los resultados de esta investigación se presentarán en un producto audiovisual que permitirá visualizar la trascendencia de los simbolismos del Inti Raymi y su papel en la construcción de una identidad cultural inclusiva y compartida, destacando la importancia de la interculturalidad en la celebración.

The objective of this study is to analyze the symbolism present in the celebration of Inti Raymi in the canton of Otavalo, Imbabura province, and its relevance within the intercultural context. This festival ancestral, is loaded with deep meanings that represent the human relationship with nature, especially the sun, considered symbol of life. Through this analysis, the aim is to understand how these symbols not only retain their traditional value but have also transformed and adapted to the current context, integrating influences from other cultures and reflecting the intercultural.
The study will begin with a historical review of the celebration of Inti Raymi, addressing the main symbols involved, such as the sun, water, and earth, and how each of them is related to the Andean indigenous worldview. Additionally, it will examine how these symbolic elements have been preserved over time and how they are currently perceived and reinterpreted by the community, both in their original context and in their interaction with other cultural traditions.
The analysis will be further deepened through interviews with members of the Otavalo city and experts in intercultural topics, who will provide a broad perspective on the current meaning of these symbols. Finally, the results of this research will be presented in an audiovisual product that will allow the viewer to visualize the significance of the symbols of Inti Raymi and their role in the construction of an inclusive and shared cultural identity, highlighting the importance of interculturality in the celebration.
