- ItemCaracterización morfológica y sensorial del cacao nacional (Teobroma Cacao) a nivel de fincas en el cantón las Naves, provincia Bolívar(Universidad Estatal de Bolívar . Facultad de Ciencias Agropecuarias . Escuela de Ingeniería Agronómica, 2012) Aguila Llumitaxi, Mario Alfonso; Jimenéz Carvajal, Manuel Mesías; Espinoza, KleberThe research work began with the identification of selected elite trees on farms using a sample size of 25 trees per farm in 20 farmers' fields selected from the top and bottom of the Las Naves canton, Bolívar province. The Las Naves Canton, according to the ecological classification of L. Holdridge zone is in the Subtropical floor corresponding to the formation Montano low, extending from 100 to 1400 m. The proposed objectives in this research were: Identify the morphological characteristics of cocoa national type presenting at the farm level. Evaluate the sensory characteristics presented by the national cocoa farm level. Determine the best national cocoa plants at the farm level to be recommended as a commercial product. Regarding the methodology used for the morphology and sensory was considered the best trees elites, high productivity, resistant to pests and diseases, color, smell and taste of its own fine flavor cocoa or national cacao assessed 20 farms selected random, 10 of the upper and 10 lower part of each farm 25 trees will be selected randomly. On the morphological characterization of the factors analyzed: staminal filament pigmentation, ear index, number of fruits per tree, number of healthy fruits per tree, fruit number per tree Monilla patients, Cherelle Wilt, length of the ear equatorial diameter of the ear, ear shape, texture of the pod, seed index, seed weight and seed coat wet pulp, dry seed weight, seed length, seed width, incidence of witches' broom, tree vigor and tree flowering and budding. Then, in the organoleptic or sensory aspect examined the factors of color, smell and taste of fine cocoa aroma, from the above, we obtained the following results: The filament estimal pigmentation in areas of the Las Naves canton has a preponderance of deep purple representing 29.60% in the lower, while in the upper area the same color predominates in 29.20% with a blue violet color relationlly with 14% representation. 71 The rate of cob, to correlate observed on average in the lower results in 1,836 kg, while in the upper zone averaged 1.841. Hence, the overall average level of the canton The Ship is 1.84 kg. On average the Canton general cocoa Las Naves in relation to the number of fruits / tree is in an amount of 112 units. The average base of healthy fruits per tree corresponded to the canton Las Naves results in an amount of 94 units. The average national cocoa production in the canton Las Naves settling on the lower and upper area called the amount resulting on average of 12 fruits per tree Monilla patients
