| dc.description | This study evaluated the use of hydroponic soybean meal as a complementary feed in the production of red tilapia (Oreochromis mossambicus) fingerlings, aiming to improve growth performance, feed efficiency, and survival rates while reducing production costs in aquaculture. A completely randomized experimental design was applied with four treatments including different levels of hydroponic soybean meal (0%, 2%, 4%, and 6%) in the fish diet. The fingerlings were fed three times daily, and parameters such as weight, length, feed conversion ratio, condition factor, and survival were evaluated. The results showed progressive growth in all treatments; the treatment with 4% inclusion of hydroponic soybeans (T2) stood out, exhibiting the best results in final weight, weekly growth, and feed conversion, with statistically significant differences compared to the other treatments. In conclusion, hydroponic soybean meal is a viable, sustainable, and economical alternative to supplement the diet of red tilapia fry, optimizing their productive development and contributing to more efficient and environmentally friendly aquaculture. | |
