| dc.description | El emprendimiento representa un componente esencial de la dinámica económica local en Ecuador y específicamente en Guaranda, al impulsar la generación de empleo, la circulación de bienes y servicios, y la ampliación de oportunidades de ingreso para la población; no obstante, la creación de nuevos negocios no garantiza su permanencia, ya que muchos enfrentan dificultades para sostener operaciones en sus primeros años debido a fragilidades inherentes. En el contexto ecuatoriano, destaca un alto involucramiento emprendedor desde etapas tempranas, pero también una significativa tasa de cierres e interrupciones iniciales, lo que subraya que la sustentabilidad se mide no solo por la cantidad de emprendimientos, sino por su duración operativa y las circunstancias de discontinuidad. | |
| dc.description.abstract | The objective of this research was to analyze the relationship between economic activity and the duration of enterprises in the city of Guaranda during the 2024–2025 period. The study was conducted under a quantitative approach, with a descriptive and correlational scope, using a non-experimental, observational, and retrospective design. The information used came from administrative records of the Internal Revenue Service, from which an analytical cohort of 1,146 enterprises was constructed, previously subjected to data cleaning, validation, and the construction of duration and censoring variables. For data processing, descriptive statistics, frequency analysis, survival estimation through Kaplan-Meier, the Log-Rank test, and Cox proportional hazards models were applied. The results showed that the cohort was composed mainly of active establishments, natural persons, and business units with low tax complexity. Likewise, the observed duration presented an asymmetric distribution, concentrated in early periods of permanence. | |
