    The development of the thesis "Self-assessment as a process of improving the educational quality of the School of Chemical Engineering ESPOCH period 2007" comes as a mechanism to initiate a process of strengthening the quality of education provided in the school Chemical Engineering, according to new social and economic demands are projected into the educational system within the framework of globalization and relentless pursuit of market competitiveness, so the quality improvement is primarily an unavoidable necessity at the present time, As such, self-evaluation has become not only a priority but also a requirement for both universities and governments In the theoretical framework and self-assessment of educational quality guidelines is based, in this section we present the basic definitions must be clear to understand the basis of the assessment process. Unquestionably all complex or simple process requires a structure that represents an order or sequence of steps to be carried out in such under the Methodology presents a descriptive study with the analytic-synthetic method, with the types of library design and field data collection arises, identifying as research subjects managers of the Faculty, staff, teachers and students, for which the interview techniques and survey are used. Analysis and discussion of the data obtained through surveys and interviews statistics charts moved to its corresponding interpretation, from which one can conclude that the self influences the improvement of educational quality.
