Maestría en Gerencia Educativa, 2013) Sanchez Garofalo, Doris Leonor; Barragan Merino, Rocio de LourdesThe research use of Free Software in Practice Teaching and learning outcomes in general baccalaureate students unified National Technical College " San Jose" San Jose Parish of Tambo, Canton Chillanes, Bolivar Province in the Academic Period 2013 suggests a structured specifically to plan and implement the use of free software as an educational resource, in order to assist the student in the learning process and teachers in the process of accompaniment (teaching) of the student, using the software approach Royalty is to develop students skills, abilities , habits, attitudes and critical and reflective thinking. This research allows us to see the problems in the process of learning about the use of free software , it was important to collect information from members of the institution to which guidelines for decision was obtained. Chapter I. - The development of this research is complemented by the theoretical framework the scientific theory of free software, which is the freedom of users about the product we acquired reflecting stress upon the history of free software that comes from the 60 and 70 where it was not considered a product if it added that large vendors approved its customers so that they could use them, we know that in 1984, Richard Stallman began working on GNU project and who later founded the Free Software Foundation of Hence the definition of free software and the concept of "copyleft" hence that free software is a matter of the users freedom to run, copy, distribute, study, change and improve the software. As for classification we have according to their cost, open source code, its protection, law and philosophy. It also refers to the variables that give reliable information on project performance. XKnowledge of free software helps teaching practice space for learning and appropriate job training for teachers. Learning is the acquisition of knowledge from certain information or perception. The conceptual theory , refers to the concepts and definitions that are the starting point for itself what it means to each of the important words that strengthens this theory. A referential theory, which is given to know the birth, growth and development of free software and used it as other teachers in educational institutions. All work is backed by a legal theory , which I refer to the various Articles of the Constitution of the Republic of Ecuador . Law on Higher Education. Intercultural Education Law. There is a Situational Theory, which reflects how the educational institution where the research applies to near the free software in teaching is. Chapter II-. Refers to the methodological strategies applied to achieve the objective. The tools and techniques used to obtain information such as surveys authorities, teachers and students. An appropriate methodology such as field research, as was done in the same place the phenomenon under study. Directly observed reality of the students in the computer labs, the historical and logical, analytic-synthetic method was used.
