Abstract

This research, titled “Media Content Study in Print Media and its Relationship with Compliance with the Organic Law of Communication, Bolívar Province, Year 2025,” analyzed the informative treatment and dissemination of journalistic genres in the weekly newspaper La Tribuna Bolivarense. Grounded in functionalist and Agenda-Setting theories, the study evaluated the alignment of publications with the principles of truthfulness, interculturality, and subsequent liability mandated by the current Organic Law of Communication (LOC). Under a predominantly qualitative methodological approach with a descriptive, documentary, and field design, data collection techniques included documentary review, semi-structured interviews with the media manager and a communication specialist, and systematic content analysis using a categorization matrix. The sample consisted of 350 journalistic notes published between December 2025 and January 2026. The findings revealed that the predominantly utilized genre stems from official press releases, resulting in short articles with shallow interpretive depth, a marked single-source approach, an absence of source verification, and recurrent language vices or spelling errors. This demonstrated partial compliance with the quality standards demanded by the legal framework, prioritizing immediacy over journalistic rigor.
