Abstract
El cantón Guaranda alberga una variedad de sitios turísticos, entre los cuales destacan la
parroquia Salinas y el centro histórico de la ciudad, reconocidos como Rincones Mágicos en
el programa Pueblos y Rincones Mágicos del Ecuador. Sin embargo, actualmente carecen de
señalización turística. Esta investigación tuvo como objetivo proponer una solución
mediante la creación de una señalética turística para ambos rincones mágicos, con el fin de
contribuir al desarrollo turístico en la provincia de Bolívar. El estudio, de tipo descriptivo y
básico, incluyó investigación bibliográfica, de campo y entrevistas a expertos. Se aplicaron
encuestas a 384 personas y se utilizó el software ArcGIS para mapear las áreas de interés. El
diseño de la señalética se basó en el manual de rincones mágicos del Ministerio de Turismo.
Los resultados revelaron que el 90,36% de los encuestados consideraba inadecuada la
señalización turística, subrayando su importancia para mejorar la experiencia de los
visitantes. Se crearon dos mapas que indican las ubicaciones ideales para la colocación de la
señalética en los rincones mágicos.
Description
The Guaranda canton is home to a variety of tourist sites, among which the Salinas parish
and the historic center of the city stand out, recognized as Magical Corners in the Magical
Towns and Corners of Ecuador program. However, they currently lack tourist signage. This
research aimed to propose a solution by creating tourist signage for both magical corners, in
order to contribute to tourism development in the province of Bolívar. The study,
descriptive and basic, included bibliographic and field research and interviews with experts.
Surveys were administered to 384 people and ArcGIS software was used to map areas of
interest. The design of the signage was based on the manual of magical corners of the
Ministry of Tourism. The results revealed that 90.36% of respondents considered tourist
signage to be inadequate, underscoring its importance in improving the visitor experience.
Two maps were created that indicate the ideal locations for placing signage in the magical
corners.
