dc.descriptionThe determination of seroprevalence of bovine neosporosis (Neospora caninum) in dairy farms in the Bolívar province had the following: determine the presence of bovine neosporosis (Neospora caninum) in dairy farms in the Bolívar province; identify the presence of bovine neosporosis in the farms of the Bolívar province; establish the percentage of prevalence of bovine neosporosis according to the study variables, and establish the sensitivity and specificity of the test in cattle, a total of 152 female cattle were evaluated in 13 farms distributed throughout the province through random sampling in age. The serological method used was competitive ELISA using the commercial reagent CIVTEST NEOSPORA from HIPRA, a total of 7 variables were studied such as: age (EA), body condition (CC), days open (DA), reproductive status ( ER), the number of lactations (NL), the prevalence of the disease (%N) as well as the sensitivity and specificity of the test (SEM); determining that the average number of lactations (NL) was 2.079 in animals with an average age of 5.3553 years, it is also surprising that 56% of the animals were non-pregnant (NP) with a prevalence of 24.34% of the sampled population positive. dc.description.abstractLa determinación de seroprevalencia a neosporosis bovina (Neospora caninum) en haciendas lecheras de la provincia Bolívar, tuvo los siguientes objetivos: determinar la presencia de neosporosis bovina (Neospora caninum) en haciendas lecheras de la provincia Bolívar; identificar la presencia de neosporosis bovina en las haciendas de la provincia Bolívar; establecer el porcentaje de prevalencia de neosporosis bovina de acuerdo a las variables del estudio, y, establecer la sensibilidad y especificidad de la prueba en bovinos, se evaluaron un total de 152 bovinos hembras en 13 predios distribuidos en toda la provincia mediante muestreo aleatorio en edad comprendida entre 0 y 10 años. El método serológico empleado fue ELISA competitivo utilizando el reactivo comercial CIVTEST NEOSPORA de HIPRA, se estudiaron un total de 7 variables como fueron: la edad (EA), la condición corporal (CC), los días abiertos (DA), el estado reproductivo (ER), el número de lactancias (NL), la prevalencia de la enfermedad (%N) así como la sensibilidad y especificidad de la prueba (SEM); determinándose que el número de lactancias (NL) su media fue de 2.079 en animales con edad promedio de 5.3553 años, así mismo sorprende que el 56% de los animales estuvieron no preñadas (NP) con una prevalencia del 24.34% de la población muestreada positiva a la neosporosis bovina.
