Abstract
Actualmente existe una gran población canina de la cual un alto porcentaje corresponde a caninos callejeros, en la necesidad de mejorar las condiciones de vida de estos animales se ha creado albergues en los cuales se les brinda cuidados y atención médica, sin embargo el sistema inmune de los animales no es tratado, por tal motivo se realizó la presente investigación, planteando como objetivo general evaluar el efecto inmunoestimulante de Viusid Pets en comparación con BIRM en caninos, mientras que sus objetivos específicos fueron evaluar los cambios en los valores de globulinas, proteínas totales y parámetros hematológicos que pueda producir la administración de cada uno de los tratamientos, además de determinar el efecto inmunoestimulante sobre el peso de los caninos. Esta investigación tuvo lugar en la ciudad de Guaranda, provincia Bolívar, en el refugio Municipal, para la cual se utilizó 20 caninos rescatados que fueron divididos en dos grupos; un grupo recibió el primer tratamiento que consistió en administrar Viusid Pets en dosis de 1ml/5kg cada 12 horas durante 30 días y otro grupo recibió el segundo tratamiento que consistió en administrar BIRM en dosis de 1 ml/5kg cada 12 horas durante el mismo tiempo. En los resultados de la presente investigación se obtuvo diferencias significativas en la variable peso con el T2, el resto de las variables no presento diferencias significativas. Concluyendo con la investigación, solo el inmunoestimulante BIRM presento cambios favorables en cuanto al peso de los caninos, así como en el resto de características físicas de los animales

Currently there is a large canine population of which a high percentage corresponds to stray dogs, in the need to improve the living conditions of these animals, shelters have been created in which they are given care and medical attention, however the immune system of the animals is not treated, for this reason the present research was carried out, the general objective was to evaluate the immunostimulant effect of Viusid Pets in comparison with BIRM in canines, while the specific objectives were to evaluate the changes in the values of globulins, total proteins and hematological parameters produced by the administration of each of the treatments, in addition to determining the immunostimulant effect on the weight of the canines. This research took place in the city of Guaranda, Bolivar province, in the Municipal shelter, for which 20 rescued canines were divided into two groups; one received the first treatment which consisted of administering Viusid Pets in doses of 1 ml/5kg every 12 hours for 30 days and other group received the second treatment which consisted of administering BIRM in doses of 1 ml/5kg every 12 hours for the same period of time. In the results of the present investigation, significant differences were obtained in the weight variable with T2, the rest of the variables did not present significant differences. Concluding with the investigation, only the immunostimulant BIRM presented favorable changes in the weight of the canines, as well as in the rest the physical characteristics of the animals
