Análisis agro-socio-economico de los beneficiarios del sistema de riego Illagua, parroquia Guanujo, cantón Guaranda, provincia Bolívar

Abstract

This study was made in Illagua community, in the parrish of Guanujo, Guaranda canton in the Bolivar Province. The main objectices were: i.To stablish a base line for the watering system. ii. To determine the production in the zone. iii. To know the watering way used by the farmers and iv. To identify the production technology used for sowing. The applied methodology used was on the basis of investigation, secondary information and formal interviews. The obtained information was systematized by means of descriptive statistics once identified the social, agricultural and economical variables. From the study the following results are outstanding: The production system is traditional and it is of corn, wheat, barley and potatoes which yield deficiently because they only satisfy the self consume and leave little to sell, for animals and to pay the labourmen. The farmers’ other income such as the state’s bonus are less than the outcomes to satisfy their basic needs. The main obstacles for a good production in the zone are: the small parcels, deficient technical assessment, scarce credits and adverse environmental factors. The watering system by aspersion has contributed to reduce the losses in the different plantings so that this project may be sustainable it is recommended that the farmers take consciousness of the importance of the good use of water; besides they might implement a plan to use the water streams with technological alternatives of managing good practices. To fortified the organization and bylaws of the agricultural associations, already formed in the zone, finally it could be recommended that they contact authorities in order to work better projects together that permit to introduce them selves into THE GOOD LIVING PLAN
