Abstract
La adherencia al tratamiento de la diabetes mellitus, es una estrategia que permite al paciente mantener la afectación de esta enfermedad en un mismo nivel, de manera que evita que avance al tiempo y que permite alcanzar cambios significativos en el conducta para mejorar su calidad de vida, por tal motivo la presente investigación tuvo como objetivo determinar el nivel de adherencia al tratamiento en pacientes con diabetes mellitus en el Hospital Alfredo Noboa Montenegro febrero – junio 2022, como metodología se aplicó la investigación descriptiva transversal y documental, la población en estudio fue de 50 pacientes del Hospital Alfredo Noboa Montenegro, muestra con la cual se trabajó para el desarrollo del proyecto de investigación, como técnica e instrumento de recolección de datos fue una encuesta con un cuestionario de 26 preguntas, como resultado se obtuvo que el 67% de los pacientes encuestados no son adherente al tratamiento, que más del 70% de la población que presenta diabetes mellitus proviene de la zona rural, en su mayoría son amas de casa, su género es femenino, su nivel de instrucción es primaria y se encuentran en un rango de edad entre los 60 a 75 años.

Adherence to the treatment of diabetes mellitus is a strategy that allows the patient to maintain the affectation of this disease at the same level, so that it prevents it from advancing over time and that allows to achieve significant changes in behavior to improve their quality of life. , for this reason, the objective of this research was to determine the level of adherence to treatment in patients with diabetes mellitus at the Alfredo Noboa Montenegro Hospital February - June 2022, as a methodology, cross-sectional and documentary descriptive research was applied, the study population was 50 patients from the Alfredo Noboa Montenegro Hospital, sample with which we work for the development of the research project, as a technique and instrument of data collection, a survey was carried out with a questionnaire of 26 questions, as a result it was obtained that 67% of the patients surveyed are not adherents to the treatment, so that more than 70% of the population with diabetes mellitus comes from the rural area, mostly are housewives, their gender is female, their level of education is primary and they are in an age range between 60 and 75 years.
