Resumen : | El carnaval intercultural o también conocido como Pawkar Raymi, festividad que se realiza en gratitud a la Pacha Mama (madre tierra) por su generosidad con las comunidades al permitirles obtener buenas cosechas, esto lo practican los pueblos Andinos en Ecuador se celebran en barias partes como en: Chimborazo, Imbabura, Carchi, Cotopaxi entre otras provincias como en Bolívar especialmente en Guaranda las comunidades como Rayo, Quinua Coral, El Sinche, San Francisco, entre otros, donde se festejan con rituales y danzas tradicionales agradeciendo a todas las mamas y los taitas (taita inti (sol), mama yaku (agua), el taita waira (viento) entre otros) de la cosmovisión andina que han permitido el florecimiento de sus cultivos y les han dado la dicha de tener buenos productos. Esta festividad recoge las vivencias y tradiciones del pueblo Andino permitiendo conectarse con sus raíces étnicas y de algún modo incentivar a que se conserve la cultura de los pueblos como: gastronomía, canto, música, danzas, folklor que los caracterizan, impidiendo se pierda la identidad de las personas. El carnaval intercultural es conocido como el Equinoccio de marzo o Pawkar Raymi, se celebra a la Pachamama, en este sentido, hay que destacar que las lluvias inician generalmente, en la zona de los Andes, en noviembre, por lo que ya en marzo esas lluvias producen frutos y flores.
