Manejo de la basura en la prevención ambiental, en el cantón Caluma, zona urbana provincia Bolívar 2010

Abstract

Has developed the waste management thesis on Environmental Prevention in Canton Caluma, District, Province Bolivar 2010, in order to manage and control the generation, storage, collection, transportation and disposal of waste, promote health Community and initiate a culture of recycling. This research was performed as an exploratory, descriptive and field, for which 109 surveys were applied to citizenship.

The results after conducting the investigation revealed that the city of Caluma not have adequate waste management, there is rather a shortage in sweeping and collection services, as their quality and coverage are not optimal.

In addition, there is no awareness programs aimed at citizens, to help the removal of illegal dumps, and encourage source reduction, improve the environment where we live and regenerate the beautification.

Also the municipal dump located on the campus Yatuvi not meet the basic standards of a modern and efficient landfill because it infringes the rules of solid waste management issued by the State affecting the health of the population as it has become a source of contamination. Therefore, it is necessary that the municipality is responsible for reviewing the proposal made by us in this thesis and studies are conducted to execute it. It is also necessary to implement programs reuse of waste in order to reduce the volume thereof. Thereby providing the population with safe, efficient and reliable public sanitation service.
