Resumen : Environmental education as a transversal axis in the curriculum of basic education. In the school Uruguay ignorance on the part of teachers, institutional policies on the introduction of environmental education into the curriculum as a central focus of the teaching-learning process, which are made in "traditional" way and not take on new aspects of the pedagogical educational mainstreaming, reiterating the lack of training, practice and knowledge on this subject today of importance. Issues related to the environment are no longer part of the daily treatment of student training, and has not become part of everyday language and academic training, and has been considered based on the different disciplines that strengthen sustainable development of our country, as currently defined in the Constitution in the scheme of Good Living in the land rights, and the powers granted to regional and local governments, on the care of nature, water and the environment. Speaking of student academic training is essential to link parallel training or ongoing training of teachers in their training, through courses, seminars, educational workshops, teaching management instruments regarding the environment, development practices simulation in the classroom, their relationship or interaction with other sciences that integrate the curriculum, taking into account as a central focus on environmental education, aspects that are not considered or has been practiced for the authorities of the institution or by the teacher leading the subject related to the environment. Teaching Learning Process established for comprehensive training in educational reform. Approximately since 1995 it began with a discussion on the need to incorporate environmental education as a transversal axis in the curriculum in state schools. From that time they began to perform some activities especially with teachers from the pilot schools Pedagogical Institutes of the country. But without this launch did not consider this dimension as a central focus in training, but was structured as a subject in the curriculum. Later, symptoms of discomfort and lack of a trained professional comes to take the process as inclusive in different disciplines, especially in the teaching learning process, considering the transversal or cross-cutting; where the need for the institution carries out activities in each of their areas (teaching, research and administration) with the philosophy of efficient use of resources and the use of educational mainstreaming, which was not taken into account in describing the previous reforms. In teaching, and in order to work on the issue it has not been taken into account available resources of time and materials to implement the project as a central focus in the curriculum of basic education. Responsibility for implementation is left in each school according to the experience you have in the area. so as it found from the view teachers the following: When talking about the responsibility for implementation in the training process of the child, the child is essential to link parallel training or ongoing training of teachers in their work activities through courses, seminars related to mainstreaming education, learn how to build and apply the axes in classroom work, have a guide to support the knowledge and practical application.
