The family is the immediate social environment in the live of a person, for the material subsistence as well as for its cultural, social and affective development. Society nowadays is different than in the past, where the family was structured and tied around paternal and maternal figures. Also, in the last years, the duties of the family have been reduced. The problems of family dysfunction are well determined and these are: intra familiar maltreatment, divorce, migration, unemployment, alcoholism, lack of education, lack of communication among parents and children, and disinterest about the education of their children. These family problems make influence over the academic performance of the students attending to the Handcraft-Formation Units, because they make them live extreme situations that interfere with their normal development in their life as well as in high school. Worried about these tensioning psychological conditions that have been originated by the family disorganization in the students home, we carried out the present work, taking into account that these can be reduced with the direct participation of parents and students and therefore increase their academic performance. In the theoretical frame, the evolutional history of “Cruzada Social, Nidia Jaramillo and María Mazarello” Handcraft-Formation Units is detailed, followed by the scientific theory that is the result of an ample updated-documentary-bibliographical research related to the independent variable, that is family dysfunction, and academic performance and to the criteria that is supported by our opinion. The type of methodology we also use to develop the proyect is descriptive because the problem researched has been determined; because of the place is a bibliographical and field research, since we applied data from books, booklets, internet and magazines. Furthermore we detailed the target universe of our research that was a population of 1008, which were divided into social strata which were students, teachers, and parents, employing the survey as a technique and the questionnaire to collect the research which had 10 questions for each stratus. To determine the size of the simple, it was distributed in the following manner: students 471 (136 Cruzada Social, 22 Nidia Jaramillo and 16 María Mazarello); 66 teachers (28 Cruzada Social, 22 Nidia Jaramillo and 16 María Mazarello); in relation to the parents, the same process than with the students was used. After having the size of the simple the surveys were given to 217 students from the three Institutions, 66 teachers, the whole universe was considered, and 217 parents similar to the students one. The information gathered from the primarily sources, these surveys given to the students, teachers and parents have been answered freely, which served us to compare answers and enrich this research. Once the results were obtained through research techniques charts and graphs were done with their corresponding analysis and interpretation of results. The conclusions obtained confirm the validity of the hypothesis and the congruence of the questions, giving us the opportunity to make recommendations to the students, teachers and parents. Based on the results obtained we built a proposal that is a life plan that serve to reorder the spiritual-mental life of the students in these Institutions, which are passing through family problems, originated by the bad relationship of their members, and at the same time we wish to contribute to the reduction of this difficulties, also to achieve an attitude and behavior change of the students that are facing familiar and cultural problems. The Life Student Proyect is the process which helps us to determine what we want to do, we define our future and goals to reach; we choose the steps to follow: we solve problems. Then the need to worry about looking for alternatives of problem solution arises, taking into account that the good family relationships play an essential role on the development of the educational processes and in this way to form responsible, confident professionals, but the primordial help will come from the family. We us teachers not only have to worry about the knowledge generated in the students but also to make the student families aware that the problems generated at home because of their bad behavioral relationship of their member prejudice the academic performance.
