dc.descriptionPalliative care in people who suffer from a chronic, advanced disease, such as diabetes and high blood pressure with a limited life prognosis. In this perspective, this research arises from the need to know what palliative care is carried out in the Older adults who suffer from chronic diseases such as diabetes and high blood pressure at the San Miguel de Bolívar Gerontological Center.Objective: Determine Palliative Care in Older Adults with diabetes and hypertension at the San Miguel de Bolívar Gerontological Center. Methodology: Applied, non-experimental research, a descriptive and cross-sectional quantitative approach was used. Result: A moderate lack of knowledge was obtained about palliative care in diabetic-hypertensive older adults since the majority of caregivers, which corresponds to 66.7%, have not received any training regarding Palliative Care. Conclusion: Strategies should be implemented aimed at caregivers who perform their functions at the San Miguel de Bolívar Gerontological Center, through training, active workshops, educational talks about the importance of palliative care in chronic diseases, because the greater the knowledge and training in this area, there will be greater awareness in decision-making in the care of patients who suffer from chronic diseases that limit their ability to live, and therefore they will have the ability to offer humanistic care, mitigating pain and providing spiritual and psychological support. dc.description.abstractSe obtuvo un desconocimiento moderado acerca de los cuidados paliativos en el adulto mayor diabético-hipertenso ya que la mayoría de los cuidadores que corresponde al 66.7% no han recibido alguna formación respecto a Cuidados Paliativos. Conclusión: Se debe implementar estrategias dirigida a los cuidadores que desempeñan sus funciones en el Centro Gerontológico San Miguel de Bolívar, a través de capacitaciones, talleres activos, charlas educativas acerca de la importancia que tienen los cuidados paliativos en enfermedades crónica, porque a mayor conocimiento y formación en esta área, va existir mayor conciencia en la toma de decisiones en el cuidado de pacientes que padezcan de enfermedades crónicas que limiten su capacidad de vida, y por lo tanto tendrán la capacidad de ofrecer un cuidado humanístico, mitigando el dolor y proporcionando apoyo espiritual y psicológico.es_MX
