Resumen :	En este trabajo investigativo se presentó los factores causales para la presencia del mosco rodador y sus repercusiones en la salud de las personas debido a las picaduras de este insecto, la investigación se realizó en la ciudad de San Miguel de Bolívar específicamente en el casco urbano. Se recolectó información bibliográfica, lo cual nos permitió conocer las causas que dan lugar a la aparición del insecto y las secuelas que dejan en la salud debido a sus picaduras. También se obtuvo datos directamente de la ciudadanía mediante encuestas realizadas para conocer las molestias que ellos presentan, de igual manera se realizó la observación directa en los lugares que se presume son la fuente de proliferación de estos. Para la respectiva tabulación de los resultados obtenidos se utilizó el programa Microsoft Excel, a la vez se utilizó tablas y gráficos para la representación de los resultados. Al finalizar el estudio se pudo determinar que los principales factores que han contribuido a la aparición del vector son: el botadero de basura existente en el cantón, la minería, las riberas del río Chimbo y el cementerio de la ciudad; respecto a las repercusiones de las picaduras en la salud pública se indagó que no existe ninguna de relevancia sanitaria en la ciudad hasta el momento. Sin embargo, la picadura provoca incomodidad, picazón y en algunos casos irritación de la piel, esto se presenta en el caso de los niños. Cabe señalar que este insecto es considerado como transmisor de leishmaniasis cutánea de existir el caso. Este trabajo de titulación es de importancia por cuanto la ciudadanía se encuentra preocupada por las molestias acarreadas por el insecto, coadyuvando a salvaguardar la salud de las personas, así como también impartir información para su conocimiento general.
Descripción :	In this research work, the causal factors for the presence of the roller fly and its repercussions on the health of people due to the bites of this insect were presented, the research was carried out in the city of San Miguel de Bolívar specifically in the urban area. Bibliographic information was collected, which allowed us to know the causes that give rise to the appearance of the insect and the consequences that they leave on health due to their bites. Data was also obtained directly from the citizens through surveys carried out to know the annoyances they present, in the same way direct observation was made in the places that are presumed to be the source of their proliferation. For the respective tabulation of the results obtained, the Microsoft Excel program was used, at the same time tables and graphs were used to represent the results. At the end of the study it was determined that the main factors that have contributed to the appearance of the vector are: the existing garbage dump in the canton, mining, the banks of the Chimbo river and the city's cemetery; Regarding the repercussions of bites on public health, it was investigated that there is none of health relevance in the city so far. However, the bite causes discomfort, itching and in some cases irritation of the skin, this occurs in the case of children. It should be noted that this insect is considered a transmitter of cutaneous leishmaniasis if there is a case. This degree work is important because the public is concerned about the inconvenience caused by the insect, helping to safeguard people's health, as well as providing information for their general knowledge.
