Descripción : Introduction: People with HIV are vulnerable patients who need more care; but the patient's condition can also generate attitudes and prejudices in Nursing Interns by providing care. Purpose: To know the attitudes of Nursing Interns, by providing care to patients with HIV, in the HIV clinic of the Liborio Panchana Hospital through an in depth interview to strengthen positive attitudes, empathy and provide humanized patient care. Methodology: Qualitative study with a phenomenological approach; which allowed to collect information through an in-depth interview applied to 10 Nursing Interns. The information collected was recorded and then transcribed to proceed to the respective analysis in the ATLAS TI program. Results: Nursing Interns know that HIV is a sexually transmitted infection that affects the immune system, has no cure and is transmitted through sexual intercourse or contact with body fluids. Regarding nursing care, they mention that they are the actions or tasks they provide so that the patient feels well, taking care of his health and helping him to his speedy recovery; They also consider that it is important to know the care that will be provide, since HIV patients are vulnerable people who have the same rights as others; They have the right to dignified and humanized treatment, not to discrimination and the right to confidentiality. It was found that Nursing Interns when providing care to patients with HIV feel fear, despair, nerves and restlessness because of the possibility of becoming infected, but by using biosecurity measures correctly, accidents at work can be avoided. According to Nursing Interns, patients with HIV are vulnerable people who go to the hospital for help and for that reason they do not feel rejection of attending their care like any other patient, because putting themselves in their place, we They comment that they would like to receive the best possible care, but also one of them mentioned that he does not like to treat these patients because it represents a high risk of infection. Conclusions: The attitudes of Nursing Interns are positive regarding the care of an HIV patient, because they are vulnerable and immunocompromised people, offering equal and non-discriminatory treatment except for a Nursing Intern, which is contradicted by saying that it treats all patients equally, but would not treat patient with HIV. Despite having Knowledge about HIV and its means of transmission, they are afraid of having a work accident despite using biosecurity measures.
