Resumen :	El presente estudio denominado, medidas de bioseguridad en el cuidado de vías centrales por el personal de enfermería en las áreas de Terapia Intensiva y Emergencia del Hospital General Liborio Panchana Sotomayor, provincia Santa Elena periodo diciembre 2018 a marzo 2019, tiene como objetivo determinar el cumplimiento de medidas de bioseguridad en el cuidado de vías centrales por el personal de enfermería en las áreas de Terapia Intensiva y Emergencia. Es un estudio del tipo descriptivo, explicativo, documental, prospectivo y con abordaje cuantitativo. Se desarrolló el estudio con el personal de enfermería siendo este un total de 63 a las mismas que se les midió el nivel de conocimiento de las medidas de bioseguridad y manejo del catéter centran a través del instrumento de evaluación, dando como resultado que para el área de emergencia bajo las escalas cualitativas de excelente (4%), muy bueno (26%), regular (40%), y malo (30%); para el área de Terapia Intensiva fueron de excelente (6%), muy bueno (75%), regular (13%) y malo (6%). Además, con la observación de 40 inserciones de vías centrales en 34 pacientes, siendo la mayoría pertenecientes al sexo femenino (66%), con predominio de menores de 24 años (23,5%); se observó el manejo en el cuidado que el personal de enfermería le daba al paciente teniendo así un 79% de dar cumplimiento a las medidas de bioseguridad y un 17% de no cumplirlas. Al realizar la socialización al personal se tuvo un mejoramiento de un 39% al conocimiento del personal, logrando notar que el personal no tenía mucho conocimiento sobre la herramienta que se usó para ver el cumplimiento de las medidas de bioseguridad el “Care Bundle” teniendo un pretest (44%) y un postest de (83%). Descripción :	The present study called, biosafety measures in the care of central roads by the nursing staff in the areas of Intensive and Emergency Therapy of the Liborio Panchana Sotomayor General Hospital, Santa Elena province from December 2018 to March 2019, aims to determine the compliance of Biosecurity measures in the care of central roads by the nursing staff in the areas of Intensive and Emergency Therapy. It is a descriptive, explanatory, documentary, prospective study with a quantitative approach. The study was carried out with the nursing staff, a total of 63 being the same as the level of knowledge of the biosafety measures and the management of the catheter, which were measured through the evaluation instrument, which resulted in that for the area of emergency under the qualitative scales of excellent (4%), very good (26%), regular (40%), and bad (30%); for the Intensive Therapy area they were excellent (6%), very good (75%), regular (13%) and bad (6%). In addition, with the observation of 40 insertions of central routes in 34 patients, the majority being female (66%), with a predominance of children under 24 years of age (23.5%); Management was observed in the nursing staff gave the patient 79% of compliance with the biosafety measures and 17% of not fulfilling them. When the staff was socialized, there was an improvement of 39% in the knowledge of the staff, noting that the staff did not have much knowledge about the tool that was used to see compliance with the biosecurity measures, the "Care Bundle" having a pretest (44%) and a posttest (83%).
