Resumen :	El presente trabajo titulado: SEGURIDAD DEL PACIENTE EN LA CANALIZACIÓN DE VÍA PERIFÉRICA POR PARTE DEL PERSONAL DE ENFERMERÍA EN EL SERVICIO DE CIRUGÍA DEL HOSPITAL ALFREDO NOBOA MONTENEGRO, GUARANDA SEPTIEMBRE 2016 - ENERO 2017 se ha desarrollado en consideración a que la seguridad del paciente es un componente clave de la calidad asistencial. En nuestro país el momento existe una sólida decisión, a través del Ministerio de Salud Pública, en desarrollar procesos que garanticen a los usuarios una atención segura en las instituciones de salud. Cuyo objetivo es prevenir la ocurrencia de situaciones que afecten la seguridad del paciente, reducir y de ser posible eliminar la ocurrencia de eventos adversos y de esta manera y de esta manera contar con instituciones seguras y competitivas. Por lo anteriormente expuesto, el estudio pretende identificar la canalización de vía periférica por parte del personal de enfermería y cómo influye en la seguridad del paciente; para lo cual se aplicó una metodología investigativa descriptiva, de campo y transversal, determinado en el periodo Septiembre 2016 – Enero 2017. Se utilizó como instrumentos de recolección de datos, una guía de observación al personal de enfermería en el momento de realizar el procedimiento, con una población de 100 pacientes canalizados. Luego de tabular y analizar los datos se pudo concluir, que no hacen uso de la guía de dispositivo intravenoso que aporta a la incorrecta aplicación de las medidas de bioseguridad durante la canalización de vía periférica.
Descripción :	The present qualified work: SAFETY OF THE PATIENT IN THE CHANNELING OF PERIPHERAL ROUTE ON THE PART OF THE PERSONNEL OF INFIRMARY IN THE SERVICE OF SURGERY OF THE HOSPITAL ALFREDO NOBOA MONTENEGRO, GUARANDA SEPTEMBER, 2016 - JANUARY, 2017 has developed in consideration to which the safety of the patient is a key component of the welfare quality. In our country the moment exists a solid decision, across the Department of Public Health, in developing processes that guarantee to the users a sure attention in the institutions of health. Whose aim is to anticipate the occurrence of situations that affect the safety of the patient, to reduce and of being possible to eliminate the occurrence of adverse events and hereby and hereby to possess sure and competitive institutions. For previously exposed, the study tries to identify the channeling of peripheral route on the part of the personnel of infirmary and how it influences the safety of the patient; for which a methodology was applied investigativa descriptive, of field and transverse, determined in the period September, 2016 - January, 2017. It was in use as instruments of compilation of information, a guide of observation to the personnel of infirmary in the moment to realize the procedure, with a population of 100 canalized patients. After tabulating and to analyze the information it was possible to conclude, that they do not use the guide of intravenous device who reaches to the incorrect application of the measures of bioseguridad during the channeling of peripheral route.
