The objective was to implement a methodology study to improve academic performance of students. Addressed important issues such as study planning, organization of space, time, how to study with method? , Study skills, concentration, reading habits, types of reading, underlining, layout, concept mapping, summary table, schema T, formation of study habits, school performance, importance of school performance, factors that influence school performance. Effect of study habits in school performance. For the type of study was a quantitative and qualitative research, for the purpose applied, that was performed to evaluate results, the level of exploratory study by the documentary and field instead. The methodology of data collection was conducted through surveys of students, eighth, ninth and tenth years of Basic Education, parents and teachers. Was applied descriptive statistics, tabular data, I made tables, graphical representations of each questions and corresponding analysis and interpretation. For the development of research used the inductive-deductive, analytical, synthetic, and the method of research. As a result of the analysis and interpretation of results established the following conclusions. The implementation of a methodology of study habits if they improve academic performance of students, students have no study skills or reading, do not plan their study, they know a methodology to study, since teachers guide students occasionally in it, have problems concentrating are not motivated, their skills in oral and written assessments lessons are generally less than 13 points. As well as recommendations: that all teachers implement a methodology of study habits to improve educational outcomes for students that: encourage the habit of reading, oriented work planning, work with practical exercises to improve concentration for the study, to guide parents to support their children at home to encourage the habit of study. To implement strategies to solve the problem of change: recovery and receptive oral and written assessments prior study conducted in the classroom methodology satisfactory results because the grades of 85% of students were above 13 points, also improved the average result quarterly. and therefore school performance.
