Cantón Guaranda, Bolívar Province. Period December 2018-April 2019, aims to determine the knowledge of contraceptive methods to prevent pregnancies in adolescents in the third year of high school. This is a descriptive, transversal and prospective study with a quantitative approach. The study was carried out with the students of the third year of high school of the Educational Unit San Pedro de Guanujo, with a population of 66 students, in which the knowledge was determined generating an average of 63% in the indicators for the part of the ignorance and a 37% representing the knowledge that students have about contraceptive methods, in addition to the identification of three pregnant adolescents who were in their last year of study. Key words: Pregnancy, Contraceptive methods, Adolescents.La presente investigación titulada: Desconocimiento de los métodos anticonceptivos y su relación con el embarazo en los adolescentes de tercero de bachillerato paralelos A y B de la Unidad Educativa San Pedro de Guanujo Cantón Guaranda, Provincia Bolívar. Período Diciembre 2018-Abril 2019, tiene como objetivo determinar el conocimiento de los métodos anticonceptivos para prevenir los embarazos en los adolescentes de tercero de bachillerato. Este es un estudio del tipo descriptivo, transversal y prospectivo con abordaje cuantitativo. Se realizó el estudio con los estudiantes de tercero de bachillerato de la Unidad Educativa San Pedro de Guanujo, con una población de 66 estudiantes, en la cual se determinó el conocimiento generando un promedio de 63% en los indicadores para la parte del desconocimiento y un 37% representando el conocimiento con el que cuentan los estudiantes sobre los métodos anticonceptivos, además de la identificación de tres adolescentes embarazadas que se encontraban cursando su último año de estudio.
