Ribadeneira Zapata, CarlosChimbolema Castro, Shilda LilianaSantos Carrillo, Ximena Johana2019-05-272019-05-272019http://dspace.ueb.edu.ec/handle/123456789/3036The investigation arose because in the city of Guaranda especially in the urban center during recent years there has been a high growth of establishments dedicated to offer accommodation services and unfortunately no studies have been carried out to describe this reality (growth of the hotel sector) and with the purpose of knowing the contribution that it generates to the social development through the generation of employment and to establish if they are a contribution to the reactivation of the economy of the city, it has been sought to determine the economic movement that propitiates answering the questions in which quantity and which are the beneficiary cities, according to the resources that are mobilized from the hotel activity, considering the descriptive cross-sectional research since the dichotomous, continuous and polynomial characteristics of the providers of this service, owners and employees in a n determined time; Because the information is obtained directly from the people involved in the object of study is established to the field study, part of the information presented in the research was obtained from bibliographic sources to know elements that make up the research topic such as: which is employment, tourist activities, accommodation establishments, their classification, economic movement was considered documentary to the study; a hypothesis is posed which assumes that the hotel activity generates economic movement and jobs that after analyzing the information obtained, it is established that hotels spend an average of 700.5 dollars per month on half of the establishments, a 500.5 half lower group, investing up to 701 dollars depending on the hotel, hostel or spa, added the movement that generates each is known that monthly all these institutions mobilize $ 8207 monthly resources that are distributed to the city of Guaranda 21.4%, Ambato 71.4% and other cities 7.1%; As regards the generation of employment, 83.3% of these establishments provide between 1 and 2 jobs, while 16.7% argue that it requires between 2 and 4 people to operate these businesses . Keywords: hotel sector, employment, tourism, accommodation, economic movementLa investigación planteada surgió debido a que en la ciudad de Guaranda especialmente en el centro urbano durante estos últimos años se ha evidenciado un alto crecimiento de establecimientos dedicados a ofertar servicios de alojamiento y lamentablemente no se han llevado a cabo estudios que describan esta realidad (crecimiento del sector hotelero) y con la finalidad de conocer la contribución que genera al desarrollo social a través de la generación de empleo y establecer si son un aporte a la reactivación de la economía de la ciudad, se ha buscado determinar el movimiento económico que se propicia dando respuesta a las preguntas en que cantidad y cuáles son las ciudades beneficiarias, en función a los recursos que se movilizan de la actividad hotelera, considerándose a la investigación de tipo descriptiva de corte transversal dado que se conocerá las características dicotómicas, continuas y polinómicas de los oferentes de este servicio, propietarios y empleados en un tiempo determinado; debido a que la información se obtiene directamente de las personas implicadas en el objeto de estudio se establece al estudio de campo, parte de la información que se presenta en la investigación fue obtenida de fuentes bibliográficas para conocer elementos que conforman el tema de investigación como: que es empleo, actividades turísticas, establecimientos de alojamiento, su clasificación, movimiento económico se consideró documental al estudio; se plantea una hipótesis la cual supone que la actividad hotelera es generadora de movimiento económico y plazas de empleo que luego de analizada la información obtenida se llega a establecer que mensualmente los hoteles invierten un promedio de 700,5 dólares la mitad de los establecimientos, un grupo inferior a la mitad 500,5, llegando a invertirse hasta los 701 dólares dependiendo el hotel, hostal o spa, sumado el movimiento que genera cada uno se conoce que al mes todos estas instituciones movilizan 8207 dólares mensuales recursos que se distribuyen a la ciudad de Guaranda el 21,4%, Ambato un 71,4% y a otras ciudades el 7,1%; en lo que concierne a la generación de empleo el 83,3% de estos establecimientos propician de entre 1 a 2 plazas de empleo, mientras que el 16,7%, argumenta que requiere de entre 2 a 4 personas para el funcionamiento de estos negocios.
