Abstract
El presente trabajo propone estrategias para impulsar el turismo de aventura como
alternativa para la reactivación económica del cantón Caluma, para lo cual se
identificó la situación actual y el potencial turístico del territorio, reconociendo
ocho atractivos representados por cascadas, ríos, bosques y edificaciones culturales,
que constituyen la base para la oferta turística dentro de las líneas de turismo de
aventura, naturaleza y cultura. Las actividades turísticas que se practican de manera
habitual en los atractivos naturales son picnic, observación de flora y fauna,
senderismo, caminata, camping y actividades recreativas, sin embargo, por sus
características geográficas son aptas para implementar: canyoning, canopy,
cicloturismo, kayak de rio, rafting, tubing, buceo de superficie y parapente. A pesar
de que el cantón tiene potencial para realizar turismo de aventura, este no se ha
desarrollado, por ello que, para impulsar el desarrollo de esta modalidad de turismo
y bajo la metodología del marco lógico se plantean estrategias enfocadas en:
mejorar la gestión pública, trabajo coordinado de las instituciones públicas y
privadas, implementación de facilidades y señalética, capacitación y elaboración de
productos turísticos de aventura, difusión y promoción del potencial turístico del
cantón.
Description
The present work proposes strategies to promote adventure tourism as an alternative
for the economic reactivation of the canton of Caluma, for which the current
situation and tourism potential of the territory was identified, recognizing eight
attractions represented by waterfalls, rivers, forests and cultural buildings, which
form the basis for the tourism offer within the lines of adventure tourism, nature
and culture. Tourist activities commonly practiced in the natural attractions are
picnics, flora and fauna observation, hiking, walking, camping, and recreational
activities; however, because of their geographic characteristics, they are suitable for
canyoning, canopy, bicycle touring, river kayaking, rafting, tubing, snorkeling, and
paragliding. Although the canton has the potential for adventure tourism, it has not
been developed. Therefore, to promote the development of this type of tourism and
under the logical framework methodology, strategies focused on improving public
management, coordinated work of public and private institutions, implementation
of facilities and signage, training and development of adventure tourism products,
and dissemination and promotion of the canton's tourism potential are proposed.
